Airi's Mother

Yup.

Airi is actually a lot different than her mom, other than in color. Though they both share the upbeat attitude Airi is more focused on making others around her happy while her mother is more about her own happiness. Thats not saying she is greedy, but Airi's mother has enough confidence to be happy and doesn't need to try and make others laugh like Airi to feel like she is accepted somewhere.

As you can see, Airi's mom is a black axolotl. This is because she is actually from a different tribe, but after meeting her father (a white one like Airi) she had fallen in love and decided to stay and become one of them. Despite Airi's mixed blood, she is not seen as an outcast since the tribe regards her mother fully as one of their own. Her people are surprisingly open to other cultures, and happily accept whoever wishes to join them with open arms.

So frankly for all practical purposes; Airi's mother is one of the tribe even if she is the only black one.

Also, she is not blind. Her eyes are just a very light color.
